Abstract:
We worked together on a 9-month greenfield project, totally XP from the start. Since this seems to be a rare experience even among regular BayXP attendees, we hope to give the group a sense of what a real XP team feels like. The first hour will be structured as a photographic tour of our Team Room, touching on the fundamentals of XP such as the Planning Game and other team processes and dynamics. For the second hour we have a list of digression topics for the group to choose from; we tried several things that we had only heard of in XP theory, such as putting off persistence and performance as mere stories in the planning game, which have often come up as questions in BayXP meetings.
Agenda:
7:00-7:30 -- Doors open, socializing, pizza*
7:30-8:30 -- Structured presentation
8:30-8:35 -- Break
8:35-9:30 -- Questions, answers, and digressions
